FIFA row revisited

Tagged in &

The bitter battle between FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former general secretary Michel Zen-Ruffinen will be relived next month when Jon Doviken, personal advisor to Zen-Ruffinen speaks at a leading conference.

Doviken has agreed to speak out on what went wrong in FIFA during the run-up to the May presidential elections.

Blatter won the vote convincingly, effectively forcing Zen-Ruffinen from his post. He left 'by mutual consent' at the conclusion of the summer World Cup.

Doviken will give his eyewitness account about the inside of the Blatter empire at the Play the Game conference in Copenhagen, taking place on November 10-14.

Other key speakers on world soccer politics will be Danny Jordaan, CEO of the South African Football Association; Emmanuel Maradas, of African Soccer magazine; and German journalist Jens Weinreich who will examine the collapse of ISL and its impact on FIFA.
