Wage cuts at Derby

Derby County, the English First Division soccer club which earlier this week asked it backroom staff to defer a percentage of their wages, is set to be the latest club to demand players take a wage cut.

Derby has suffered like many others in the League following the collapse of ITV Digital and its recent relegation from the lucrative Premier League.

The club says it is £30m in debt and needs to cut costs to avoid falling into administration.

Fellow clubs Leicester and Coventry have already been forced to implement similar measures.
