US college sports governing body, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), has named a new president.
Myles Brand, president of Indiana University, will take up the much-vaunted post with immediate effect.
The 60-year old Brand is most widely known for his controversial dismissal two years ago of renowned basketball coach Bob Knight.
Brand has headed up Indiana University since 1994.
