The new service, available only on MLB.com, begins with the start of the Division Series on October 1.
"There are millions of fans around the globe who will watch post-season games on television," said Bob Bowman, CEO of MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and internet company of MLB, "but some will be unable to watch them. Our live webcasts will give those fans the opportunity to participate in the excitement of post-season play. An important part of our charter is to expand the reach of the game to as many fans as we can."
Fans who live outside the US can watch online, live or archived, complete daily match-ups during the Division Series and every game of the League Championship Series and the World Series.
The cost of the entire post-season webcast package (a minimum of 24) is $19.95 and is available now on MLB.com. In order to protect the rights of MLB's US and international broadcast partners, these post-season webcasts will not be available to fans who attempt to access the service from the US, Guam, the US Virgin Islands and Japan.
