Greek football suspended

Greece’s leading football clubs have agreed to go on strike for a month following the government’s decision to prevent them from sharing revenues with the state-run fixed-odds betting operator to compensate for the clubs’ cash shortfall following the recent collapse of broadcaster Alpha Digital.

“We completely object to claims that sharing some of the revenues from Pame Stoichima would encourage match fixing,” Pedros Kokkalis, vice president of Greek team Olympiakos told sportbusiness.com
