As part of an internal restructuring, Shapiro becomes Executive VP for Programming and Production, adding the responsibility for all studio and event production to his existing duties.
Others to benefit from the management changes include John Skipper who has been promoted to Executive VP for ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine.

Another beneficiary of the promotions and restructuring of ESPN is Ron Semiao who has been upped to Senior VP of ESPN Original Entertainment, reporting directly to Shapiro.
ESPN has just kicked off its coverage of the new NFL season by broadcasting the season-opening game for the first time.
ESPN has rung the internal changes which include a promotion for Mark Shapiro from his post as Senior VP of Programming.
