"We have achieved a strong financial performance whilst continuing to invest for the future," Sportech's managing director Colin McGill said. "There has been a continued improvement in the net margins on football pools and we have experienced the benefits of further growth in sports betting revenues.
"We have substantially enhanced our new media capability to support our interactive television strategy, and we look forward to launching new innovative gaming products on television in the next six months."
Sportech's biggest interactive television betting project is with attheraces, the media consortium which runs 49 out of the country's 59 racecourses. Attheraces selected Sportech as one of the three fixed odds betting providers for the attheraces interactive television channel on Sky digital. Interactive betting is expected to be available on attheraces later this year.
Shares in Sportech rose five percent to 11.25p following the release of its half-year figures.
