Fast Track sprints to sponsor success

UK-based sports marketing agency Fast Track, has signed up the first £170,000 ($264,330/EUR270,860) of national commercial backing for next year's IAAF World Indoor Championships.

Five sponsors, including recruitment firm Adecco and radio station Heart FM, are now on board for the athletics event which will be staged in Birmingham, England.
Other companies to back the three-day event are Birmingham International Airport and regional development agency Advantage West Midlands. Trinity Mirror's stable of regional papers - including the Birmingham Post and Birmingham Evening Mail - will be regional media partner to the Championships.
Said the agency's founder Alan Pascoe: "The Commonwealth Games in Manchester highlighted Britain's ability to host major international sporting events and the World Indoors is set to further enhance this growing reputation.
"With the interest generated by the Commonwealths as well as the European Championships this year, athletics is an attractive sport to be involved in and the World Indoors offers the ideal chance for firms to capitalise on that interest."
In addition to the national sponsors, brands such as Coca-Cola, adidas and Epson have already been signed up by the IAAF as global partners to the Championships.
