Having successfully managed to avoid a players' strike last week, MLB has now turned its attention to the misuse of licensed logos among the plethora of fan websites currently online.
Said Ethan Orlinsky, senior vice president and general counsel for MLB Properties: "We encourage fans to speak about baseball and to produce websites. We're simply asking they do it within the confines of the law."
A number of fan websites received letters over the last few days asking them to remove logos and trademarks that they are not licensed to show or face legal action.
Attorneys representing Major League Baseball (MLB) have threatened legal action against a number of fan websites over the alleged use of team logos and trademarks.
