The 16-year-old was her country's top-ranked junior player and has been ranked 35 by the ITF after just four tournaments.
The arrangement, effective immediately, was brokered by the Chinese Tennis Association (CTA).
Shuai will relocate to Boca Raton, Florida, where she will attend the Evert Tennis Academy.
“We have been watching Peng Shuai’s development since she was 13,” says Max Eisenbud, who with John Cappo in Taiwan, will co-manage Shuai’s IMG team.
“Her potential has always been evident both on and off the court, and she has global appeal. We look forward to working with the CTA as Peng Shuai’s career evolves.”
