CART feels need for speed

Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) has launched a new 'Speed on Demand' web service that lets fans replay races on their computers.

Lingner Group, which produces the CART broadcasts, and SPEED channel have combined their resources with website managers VFX and CART.com to introduce the new feature, which allows fans to replay the entire race broadcast.

The 2002 races from Chicago, Toronto, Cleveland and Vancouver are already on site with plans under way to add the remainder to the schedule.

"One of our goals at CART.com has always been to increase the number of ways our fans can enjoy the CART FedEx Championship Series and 'Speed on Demand' is just another way we have been able to offer our fans the ability to relive the races," VFX Digital Solutions president Coniah Chuang said.

"We'll also start adding the CART Friday Night shows and Friday/Saturday qualifying shows in the next couple of weeks."
