Though no financial details of the deal have been revealed, BSkyB will broadcast live coverage of the Turkey tie which takes place in October of next year.
While all of the home games in England's qualifying group for Euro2004 will be shared between BSkyB and free-to-air network the BBC through a joint rights deal, the away legs are sold by the hosting football association under the existing UEFA system.
With BSkyB taking the Turkey clash and the BBC having already bought up the away game in Macedonia next September, the only matches still to be sold are the trips to Slovakia and Liechtenstein next October and March respectively.
The lack of control in the sale of the TV rights to overseas England matches is an issue of continuing frustration for the English Football Association which has called for more say in the distribution of such rights.
