MasterCard tees-up deal

MasterCard International has signed a major new naming rights sponsorship deal with golf's Australian Masters.

The four-year deal sees the event become the MasterCard Masters, with the finance giant also becoming an associate sponsor of the Holden Australian Open, Johnnie Walker Classic and AAMI Women's Australian Open.
Said Leigh Clapham, senior vice president and general manager for MasterCard International, Australasia: “Golf is an integral part of MasterCard’s integrated global marketing strategy, building brand awareness, increasing card usage and providing extended value to MasterCard cardholders.”
