Europe's top football clubs have confirmed that they will challenge UEFA's decision to reduce the number of Champions League games from next season.
At a meeting in Madrid over the weekend, G14, the lobby group that represents Europe's wealthiest teams, said they were angry with UEFA's intentions to scrap the second group stage of the Champions League without consulting them.
The loss of the second round would cost each team involved in the competition about £6million ($9.4m/EUR9.5m) in lost television and gate revenues.
