Baseball fans form 'union'

Baseball fans in the United States have formed a 'union' in response to the threat of a baseball strike this autumn.

The Baseball Fan Union is intended to give the fans of Major League Baseball an 'unbiased voice' that will be heard by Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association.
Through their new website - baseballfanunion.com - the fans aim to conduct a survey on the major issues facing baseball, which will be delivered to the offices of Commissioner Bud Selig and Player's Representative Donald Fehr.
"You have Major League Baseball fighting for its causes, and you have the Players Association fighting for its causes. However, no one is fighting for what is best for the future of pro baseball," said Baseball Fan Union president Greg Caldwell.
The Baseball Fan Union survey will be available online until August 31, 2002.
