Revenues were $48,641,000 (EUR48.6m) in the quarter compared to $46,506,000 (EUR46.5m) for the second quarter of 2001.
The company ascribed the increase to greater admissions and other revenue at Dover International Speedway's spring NASCAR weekend and a second Busch Series event at Nashville Superspeedway.
Dover Downs, however, experienced a decline in admission, sponsorship and other related revenue at certain events in the second quarter, which offset the improvements in revenue at Dover International Speedway.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the quarter ended June 30, 2002 were $16,409,000 (EUR16.4m) compared with $18,901,000 (EUR18.9m) in the comparable quarter of the prior year.
Dover Motorsports subsidiaries operate seven motor sport tracks (four permanent facilities and three temporary circuits) in six states and promote NASCAR, CART, IRL and NHRA events.
