Reports in the US say the owner of Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres has become embroiled in an investigation related to alleged 'fradulent accounting practices' at his computer software firm.
According to the report on ESPN.com, John Moores is being investigated by the US' Securities and Exchange Commission in his role as chairman of Peregrine Systems.
Padres president and CEO Bob Vizas said: "There is no truth to the allegations that John Moores did anything wrong."
