League in new cash crisis

Tagged in &

The Nationwide League's 72 clubs are about to be dealt another financial blow from cable network NTL.

According to the Sunday press, the clubs could see NTL backing out of its £65m ($101m/EUR102m) five-year deal with them.

NTL took over the League's internet operations but is now facing debts of nearly £12bn ($17bn/B20bn) and is seeking bankruptcy protection in America.

Barry Fry, boss of Peterborough, told one paper: "Nobody expects to get the money (from NTL) on July 19 and we don't expect to see any more from NTL. It will be a massive blow."
