Golden League to cut venues

The number of Golden League athletic venues will be cut from seven to six during the 2003-05 seasons, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said today.

Eight candidates have expressed an interest in hosting one of the meetings – the six incumbent members: Berlin, Brussels, Oslo, Paris, Rome and Zurich, as well as new bidders London and Stockholm.

Monaco is the only incumbent city that will not be included in the selection.

The final decision on which cities will be chosen will be made during the IAAF Grand Prix final in Paris on September 14.
