Speaking to the Swiss media, following his victory in the FIFA presidential election yesterday, Blatter was clearly relishing dismissing the man who was one of the most outspoken critics of the president.
Blatter has called a FIFA Executive Committee meeting for tomorrow with Blatter expected to deliver the chop to the man who was key in presenting to Swiss authorities documents which allege financial mismanagement under Blatter's rule.
"Friday, I throw Zen-Ruffinen out the door," Blatter said to Swiss newspaper Blick.
"On Friday, the Executive Committee is going to take care of `Mr Clean'.
"Now it is finished. The last negative comments by Zen-Ruffinen after my re-election were the last straw."
Zen-Ruffinen is expected to be joined in being hurled out of FIFA House by his assistant Jon Doviken.
Following yesterday's election, Zen-Ruffinen refused to quit the post he has held since 1998, despite a working relationship with Blatter which is in tatters.
His decision is now likely to be made for him.
