Latest audience figures from Canada's Bureau of Broadcast Measurement confirm that for the week of 12th May, LeafsTV earned a 12% share of the available digital audience, beating Fox Sportsworld's 9%. A 12% share equates for approximately 4,400 people watching across each quarter-hour measured. (These figures came prior to the Toronto Maple Leafs being eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes.
The rest of the top 10 comprised Animal Planet (6%), Court TV (6%), Sex TV (5%), MTV Canada (4%), Men TV (4%), Lonestar (4%), Scream (4%) and Showcase Action(4%).
However, for the year to date, Nielsen digital audience ratings show LeafsTV to be down in 41st place with Raptors NBA TV taking the top sport for total digital audiences and 18th overall (analogue and digital), followed by NL Network (20th) Fox Sports (26th), WTSN (29th), ESPN Classic Canada (34th) with Xtreme Sports in 43rd place.
The digital thematic service of ice hockey's Toronto Maple Leafs has received a welcome boost as a consequence of the team making the play-offs of North America's Stanley Cup competition.
