Soccer Australia could cease to exist within a month if one of its major backers does not receive the $1.6million (EUR1.7m) it is owed from the organising body.
International Entertainment Corp (IEC), which holds promotional and broadcasting rights for Australian soccer, is asking the Federal Court to order Soccer Australia to close.
Soccer Australia has been cash-strapped since its international team failed to qualify for the World Cup.
The matter will be heard on June 7 in Sydney.
