The rights are believed to have a price-tag of £5million (EUR8.14m/$7.22m), with Sky hot favourite to pocket them and beam the fight live on its pay-per-view Box Office service.
However, the BBC - which signed a deal with Lewis for his ill-fated Hasim Rahman fight - is believed to also be in negotiations. It claims, however, it is unwilling to pay such a fee for one fight.
Said head of BBC Sport Peter Salmon on the BBC Sport website: "The owners of the Lewis-Tyson fight are in negotiations with several broadcasters, as far as we know.
"Speculation about the BBC's involvement is inaccurate and premature.
"We have not and would not pay £5m for a single boxing match.
"We do, however, remain interested in working with Lennox Lewis on his remaining World Championship fights, but only if this represents value for money for the BBC."
