The meeting, to be held in Milton Keynes, will call for every affiliated team to vote on a resolution to pay a levy of £150 to the EHA within 14 days, raising a total sum of £600,000 ($863,220/EUR978,059). The much needed funds will go towards rescuing the association's perilous financial position.
Richard Wyatt, the EHA's chief executive, comments: "The situation is worse than anything we could have imagined. We are only a matter of weeks away from running out of money."
If the money is not raised then the EHA will cease business.
The English Hockey Association (EHA) has called a special general meeting on 4 May as it looks to save itself from financial ruin.
