Libya is set to make a bid to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2006 African Cup of Nations.
However, it faces an uphill fight to land either tournament.
Although FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said an African nation would host the 2010 event, South Africa is still hot favourite.
