Adidas has been associated with the International X Games since 1998 when the brand sponsored ESPN's first overseas expansion of the X Games franchise, the Asian X Games Qualifier.
MasterCard and Timnet, a Brazilian wireless services provider, are newcomers to the International X Games.
The event, which will be held this week in Rio de Janiero (March 21-24), will feature more than 200 of the region's action sports athletes competing for an invitation to X Games VIII in Philadelphia, August 2002.
