Major League Baseball executive Robert DuPuy is to be named its new president and COO according to US media reports.
DuPuy, currently vice president of administration at the league, will replace Paul Beeston, claim the reports.
The move, to be confirmed later this month by commissioner Bud Selig, comes as part of what reports claim to be 'an administrative reorganisation'.
It is believed Beeston will quit his post on March 15.
