Sturges, a minority owner of the Miami Heat, has asked the firm to assist in the acquisition, which will involve a team of investors.

"We are enthusiastic about this opportunity and are looking forward to working with the NBA and Magic ownership on this transaction."
Sturges was instrumental in bringing the Heat to Miami and will work with Game Plan founders Robert Caporale and Randel Vataha on the deal.
