Avaya signs US soccer sponsorship deal

Avaya, the provider of technology at this summer's World Cup in Japan and South Korea, has signed an additional sponsorship and technology deal with the US Soccer Federation.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Avaya will become a sponsor and the official provider of voice and data communications for the federation, the governing body of soccer in the US.

"Avaya is pleased to be a corporate partner for the US men's and women's World Cup teams," said Don Peterson, chairman and chief executive of Avaya. "Our new relationship with US Soccer builds significantly on our existing partnership with FIFA and on the communications solutions we've designed to support the sport across a global venue.

"We look forward to bringing that experience to US Soccer as we equip its first training centre with technology that will help it communicate more effectively."
