InterClubNet delivers stable interims

Sports administration technology company InterClubNet Plc has "delivered stability" whilst widening its net of business activities and markets, the company said in its interim results.

Chairman ALR Morton said the group's most significant opportunity lies in applying the knowledge and technology development gained from English football across selected other sports, and overseas.

He said the group has achieved the goal of evolving from the original business model based on the football club system to building software administration systems and delivering content, focusing efforts on The FA in England, the AFC in Asia, and clients in Southern Africa.

"We have been cautious by limiting our expansion in South America. However, the group's contacts on that continent are excellent, and we will pursue opportunities there in due course," Morton added.

Football has been the driver of the company's business, but InterClubNet has also widened
its focus to other sports through the recent acquisition of Play-Sport New Media Limited, whose clients include the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Lawn Tennis Association, the company said.

The comments came alongside results for the first half to November 30, which showed a reduction in pre-tax losses to £222,000 ($315,000/EUR363,000) from £879,000 ($1.25m/EUR1.43m) on turnover of £2.76m ($3.9m/EUR4.5M), up from £468,000 ($665,000/EUR766,000) a year earlier.
