Club channels join forces

The TV channels of eight of the top European soccer clubs have banded together to form an official lobby group with the aim of creating a united voice over issues such as rights and archive access.

The initiative was formulated at a meeting in Venice, hosted by marketing agency RAI Trade which has also agreed to act as the group's secretariat. The Association of European Club Channels will represent the interests of Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Olympic Marseille, Roma, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Among the associations that the new group will approach will include governing body UEFA and the G14 collective of Europe's leading clubs.
