Chances of the fight taking place slumped dramatically earlier this week when Nevada refused Tyson a permit to box for the proposed showdown in Las Vegas on April 6.
Since then Lewis has not ruled out re-arranging the fight, and is due to discuss the situation next week with his TV network HBO, before making any further public announcement.
Said Tyson's agent Shelly Finkel: "We would very much like to hold the fight at the Staples Center."
Former heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, is to apply for a licence to box in California after the Los Angeles Staples Center expressed an interest in hosting the long-awaited Tyson vs Lennox Lewis fight.
