Sports.com to rival PA's World Cup digital package

Sports.com, the unofficial website for this summer's World Cup, is to offer digital content services for the tournament, putting itself in direct competition with the Press Association (PA).

Working with the European Sports Agency, Sports.com will offer real-time text commentaries of all 64 games.

"We have looked at PA's offering and decided to go more in depth," said Sports.com's group sales and marketing director Paul Wright. "Our clients require more and more detailed statistical information and Sports.com now have the technology to be market leaders in this sector and offer a comprehensive alternative to PA's service."
