Enron Field under pressure from new bidders

Several Houston-based corporations have reportedly contacted the Houston Astros baseball team about putting their name on the team's ballpark, Enron Field.

The team has been under pressure to decide what to do with the naming rights to the stadium since the plight of energy firm Enron.

Enron are committed to a 30-year $100million (EUR112.2m) naming rights deal for the stadium.

Astros' owner Drayton McLane has said it would be inappropriate to have discussions on the issue until Enron gets direction from the bankruptcy court over whether the naming rights are an asset worth keeping.
