Eurosport, which holds the rights via the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and will still transmit 24-hours each day had, until recently, planned to transmit 20 percent of its coverage live.
However, the live rights in Germany were acquired by public service broadcasters ARD and ZDF which then sub-licensed them in part to the Kirch Group controlled Premiere World PayTV platform.
