CSS Stellar buys Vertical Marketing Mix

AIM-listed sports and entertainment management and marketing group CSS Stellar Plc is to buy the New York-based media and entertainment marketing consultancy Vertical Marketing Mix (VMM).

CSS - whose clients include the PGA European Tour and the English Football Association - will pay VMM owner John Zamoiski an initial sum of $400,000 (EUR451,200) and a deferred payment of up to $5.6million (EUR6.3m).

VMM's clients include AOL, A&E Networks, Mediamerica, NBC Cable Television, Oxygen,
Showtime Networks and The Weather Channel.

CSS Stellar (chairman Barrie Gill pictured) said VMM's integration will be an "excellent strategic fit" with GEM, the
US-based sports marketing consultancy acquired by CSS in July 2001.

VMM made a pre-tax profit of $0.34m (EUR0.38m) in 2000 and had net assets of $0.2m (EUR0.23m) at the end of that year.
