Snooker denies unfair dismissal claim

The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) has announced it will vigorously defend itself against any legal action taken by former chief executive Jim McKenzie over his dismissal.

Yesterday it was reported that McKenzie was seeking £100,000 ($144,500/EUR162,180) in damages for breach of contract.

In a statement today, the WPBA said that the decision to dismiss McKenzie was “justified and in the best interests” of the Association.
