According to Simon Lyons, marketing director of the Euro 2008 bid, the cabinet will vote on whether to raise £80million ($114.9m/EUR130.6m) for the bid: £70m ($100.6m/EUR114.2m) for stadium developments and £10m ($14.3m/EUR16.3m) for infrastructure costs.
"The First Minister Jack McConnell says he prefers a solo bid over a joint bid [with Ireland] so long as it is economically viable," Lyons told sportbusiness.com
The Scottish Parliament is likely to approve funding for Scotland's solo bid to stage the 2008 European Championship within seven days.
