According to the Financial Times, the creation of the new unit called Granada Sport and Interactive will allow Granada's online interests to share resources with its TV production arm.
"This move is really about aggregating our sports assets, " said Max Graesser, chief operating officer of Granada Sport and Interactive.
"We are in this for the long term and we have to accept that these businesses are long term."
Granada has a 50 percent stake in Liverpoolfc.tv, the club's internet and broadband venture, and also has a share in Arsenal Broadband.
The company holds 33 percent of MUTV in a three way joint venture with Manchester United and BSkyB.
UK media group Granada is set to create a new division to pool its football assets in Liverpool, Arsenal and MUTV, the Manchester United TV channel.
