Financial woes continue at Western Bulldogs

Australian Football League (AFL) club The Western Bulldogs, insisted it was not on the verge of selling its naming rights.

The cash-strapped club has already rejected two sponsorship offers and is still without a major backer just ten weeks before the start of the season.

"We had a chance to stitch companies up," said the club's president David Smorgon, "various deals were put to us, but we didn't think they were in the ball park. We are confident we can end up with the sort of dollars we believe sponsorship of a major AFL club is worth."
