Judith McMahon said that a leading representative of Ford Motors had visited Jaguar’s Milton Keynes HQ in the last month and given the team “a message of reassurance and said we’re in it for the long term”.
McMahon added that the Ford-owned team was “making plans and serious investments” and believed that Jaguar Racing was “secure”.
Speculation was rife in the industry that Ford might pull out of F1 when Bill Ford replaced Jac Nasser as President and CEO of the Ford group.
The leading Ford exec was Dr Wolfgang Reitzle, president of Premier Automobile Group, which runs Ford –owned brands such as Aston Martin, Land Rover, Volvo – and Jaguar.
