UK high street retailers, Marks & Spencer, has become a clothing and apparel licensee for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

It has signed a deal with Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG), the exclusive worldwide licensing agency for tournament.

Previously, Marks & Spencer has relied upon its suppliers to take product licences. This deal will be the first time in its history that Marks & Spencer has taken a direct product licence for a leading sports, brand or entertainment property.

Marks & Spencer will create a branded clothing range that will include children's nightwear, outerwear and accessories.
