LPGA signs seniors' tour deal

The LPGA will have an official seniors' tour for the first time next year after signing an agreement with the Women's Seniors Golf Association. The age limit will be 44 and over.

(Reuters) The Women's Senior Golf Tour (WGSGT), which has held three events over the last two seasons, hopes to stage at least four tournaments next year with purses ranging from $350,000 (EUR391,323) to $500,000 (EUR559,033).
"Having an official seniors' tour for the LPGA is the perfect complement to the LPGA Tour and our Futures Tour," LPGA commissioner Ty Votaw said on Tuesday. "We now have a complete cycle for women professional golfers."
The tournaments will be staged in weeks when there is no LPGA tournament or when there are limited-field events, such as the Women's British Open and the Evian Masters in France.
