European countries are to lobby UEFA for more money from next year's World Cup amid concerns that most of the profits from football tournaments go to FIFA.
Worries over profits will be voiced by representatives of England, Germany, Italy, Spain and Turkey at today's executive committee meeting of UEFA.
Next year's World Cup is set to be the costliest ever for teams and fans. But FIFA is expected to net more money than ever before from television and sponsorship.
FIFA argue that the World Cup is its only profit-generating tournament and could help to bring the organisation out of debt.
