McEnroe fears for senior tour

Tennis legend John McEnroe fears the US seniors' tennis circuit could fold after his retirement unless a "new" generation of star players commits to the tour.

According to McEnroe, most new retirees from the pro tour have refused to join the circuit and other big name stars from the 80's and 90's like Ivan Lendl and Stefan Edberg have also opted out.

"I have had the opportunity to do this for five years, " said McEnroe. "I give myself two years more at the outside - maybe just one - and I would be sorry if it [the senior tour] ended there."

McEnroe was speaking in London during the Honda Challenge at the Royal Albert Hall, which was won by Guy Forget.
