Premier1 Racing - the motorsport / soccer hybrid - has put back its launch date by eight months, but denied suggestions all may not be well with the new sport.
It has categorically denied it faces any form of financial or commercial problem - claiming instead the delay will simply ensure the debut season is a complete success.
The season had planned to launch following the completion of the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan, but will now get underway in March 2003.
"The initial plans to launch next year were very ambitious," spokesman John Sharp told sportbusiness.com
