Ann Wool, a former senior consultant with Edelman New York’s sports marketing operation, will oversee the US offices, headquartered in New York.
KSN’s clients include leading brands such as Carlsberg, Pepsi and MG, as well as boasting PR campaigns for Rover, Castlemaine XXXX, Aberdeen Asset Management and Burton Menswear.
Martin said he saw a “real need for a credible public relations agency which offered a genuine knowledge of the business of sport - not just a group of sport fans who think of and treat sport as a hobby”.
Ketchum, part of the Omnicom Group, also announced plans to expand KSN into key cities in Europe and Asia, focusing on those hosting major sports events.
