CBF chief accused of negligence

Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Ricardo Teixeira has been accused of negligent administration which allowed the mixing of personal and soccer-related business and living in luxury at his organisation's expense.

A commission of inquiry in the Brazilian Senate, which has spent a year delving into the country's crisis-hit national sport, unleashed a series of accusations against Teixeira's administration in its final report.
The reading of the 1,600 page report, which began yesterday afternoon (GMT time), was expected to take ten to 12 hours in all. It is due to be voted on by the commission's members on Thursday.
The commission's general secretary Geraldo Althoff described a "voracity" and "lack of control" over CBF expenditure.
A full interview with corruption investigator Senator Alvaro Dias can be found in the December edition of Football Business International.
