ITV's terrestrial channel, ITV1, and its digital network, ITV2, will be available on BSkyB's digital satellite platform, sportbusiness.com can confirm.
The news comes just one day after the chief executive of Carlton, co-owner of ITV digital, suggested a Sky tie-up was not feasible. "For Sky to manage the subscribers would be problematic from a regulatory perspective," he said.
Denton Wilde Sapte, the lawyers who brokered the deal, said it should deliver "significant benefits", not only to ITV's shareholders and advertisers, but also to digital satellite viewers.
