Former IMG executive John Webber, chairman of CSS Stellar, said: “We have spent a considerable amount of time seeking the right acquisition in a fragmented sector. This acquisition will grow substantially the entertainment business within the group and provide an excellent platform from which to expand and create further opportunities.”
PFD operates from offices in Covent Garden, London and includes Ewan McGregor and Kate Winslet among its clients.
The move confirms the AIM-listed company’s strategy of expanding its entertainment representation interests in tandem with its sports management portfolio.
PFD generated turnover of £6.6m ($9.3m/B10.5m) and adjusted profits before tax of £1.2m ($1.7m/B2.7m) in the year to March 31, 2001.
CSS Stellar reported turnover of £13.2m ($18.5m/B12.2m) in the financial year ending December, 2000.
